Steel Grass Chigasaki

The dog run is located under an elevated expressway.

The rain that leaks off from the roadway creates a shiny, blackish-green stream of slime down the cement arch supports.

Encased steel box girder for the elevated highway.

Steel support structure for the elevated highway.

Anchor cables for the highway.

Just a street lamp over the expressway.

Love the light tone and flowing motion of this grass near the dog run.

Feel sorry for the designer of these street lamps. Bet they never imagined how popular of a roosting spot they'd be for local fowl like pigeons and crows.

Shiba Sumo

First time to visit a dog run. A bit small, but clean, cheap, and at least she can play with other dogs without worry of some other owner freaking out.

Her new friend, a Japanese Shiba breed.

Playing tag with her friends.

Lots of fun to watch her run freely without a leash.

I guess you could say they are playing sumo since we are in Japan.

Quick turn on a dime!

Hino Stump

More spring flowers in the neighborhood during the morning dog walk.

The stump of some plant seen along the side of the road.

And the other side of the same stump.

Entrance/Exit to the Yokoyoko Expressway just seconds from our home.

More spring blossoms.

These might be cherry tree blossoms.

I think we have gone through about three different leashes after extensive playing of tug-of-war.

Cool Off

More than a Frisbee, she loves playing fetch with any ball of any size!

Incoming!

Love how Borders can slouch low when walking like a lion stalking prey.

Break time!

She really worked up a sweat on the warm spring morning.

Time to cool off in the pond at the park.

More than Frisbees and balls, she loves playing in the water!

Paws

Playing catch with a Frisbee at a local park.

Wish we lived in a place with a big back yard so that I could take the leash off of her.

You need to use gloves to get a good enough grip on the Frisbee to get it back from her.

Living in an urban area with a Border Collie really is a waste of her skills and intelligence.

Oops! Tossed it a bit too high!

Agile girl!

Nice paw catch!

Broadleaf Deco

Have no idea what kinds of flowers or leaves or plant this is. Love the texture and color though.

See this kind of small tree often, which I think is a broadleaf evergreen.

Cloudy days seem most interesting for taking shots.

Interesting exterior deco right dab in the middle of a cement wall upon which a newer type of house sits.

Chain Grove

Stone lantern in front of a Buddhist temple in the neighborhood surrounded by many lovely spring blossoms.

A pagoda-style stone garden decoration in the same Buddhist garden.

This canal runs right by the house and follows along a road leading the Buddhist funeral home (above) and the bottom of the stairs that lead up to the Shinto Shrine (below).

Love taking the dog for her walk on mornings after it has rained. The green tones really stand out!

Interesting mix of coniferous and deciduous trees, and bamboo stalks.

Was surprised to see this chain along the border of the "public property" and "private property" since we both went way off the trail to explore the greenery at the top of this hill in the neighborhood.

Puppy got a little stuck between two trees!
