Mt. Fuji Samukawa River

I went for a walk to Sakawa River. The route from home took me through some rice paddies where upon I was able to see the peak of Mt. Fuji. Usually, it is too cloudy to even see past the Hakone mountains, but I was very lucky today.

The water at the river was crystal clear. I was even able to see some fish. After living in the Tokyo suburbs for so long, it is quite refreshing to see what appears to be very clean water!

近所の花

Took a few shots of some somewhat colorful flowers in the neighborhood.

Most of these flowers are growing like weeds along the rivers or canals.

If anyone knows the names of these flowers in English or Japanese, I would love to know!

諏訪の原公園

I visited Suwanohara Park, which is located up on a hill overlooking the Kayama valley in Odawara, Japan. The park has lots of greenery and easily accessible by car or on foot.

I went there by bicycle, which was a bit of a mistake. The road leading up to the park is pretty steep, so I had to get off the bicycle and push it up most of the way.

Human Walk

I usually take Dale the border collie and Mary the miniature pinscher for a walk together. But they are completely different in size and personality.

Mary wants to go in one direction and Dale wants to go in a different direction. Probably one of the biggest differences in the two is their level of stamina.

Mary will get tired easily and beg to be carried the rest of the way home. I know she is spoiled and I take full responsibility for that!

She was really scared about jumping onto each cement block. After she fell in the water and realized that it wasn't deep, she quickly started enjoying hopping across the river.
