Cold and Wet Puppies

Mary being extremely shy about getting close to the water. She is too small to climb up the steps to get away.

Dale, on the other hand can't wait to jump in!

Never quite figured out what she was looking at. Maybe a small fish surface above the water to grab a bite?

Mary's first and last swimming lessons. I thought she was going to have a heart attack!

Hope she doesn't see the dorsal fin of a shark creeping up behind me.

It is funny not only when she does this out of the water, but also while IN the water.

Finally got a shot of her looking at me! :-)

Post-swimming lesson for Mary.

The Queen Mary is not happy and ready to go home to her air conditioned apartment.

Natural instinct eventually kicked in and she enjoyed sniffing everything around her.

Pooches by the River

Mary seems totally pissed about being dragged out of her air-conditioned home to the rough-and-tumble of the real outdoors.

Dale looking for fish, birds, the Loch Ness Monster -- anything worth barking at.

And she has spotted something worth looking at -- but not worthing jumping into the water for.

Mary scared of the water and starts swimming before she even gets inside. Thought she might like it, but will never do that again. Poor girl.

I tried to get her to jump into the deeper water and swim with me. But no luck.

I always find it funny how she'll jump in the water, and even try to shake herself dry WHILE she is still in the water.

"Come on, girl! You can do! Come to Daddy!"

"Can we go home now?"

"I hate the outdoors."

She has finally dried a bit and got warmed back up.

A nice and warm afternoon at the beach. The wet stones helped to keep her paws cool.

Spent an afternoon walking through the neighborhood where I was able to catch some shots using a Sony Handycam.

Came across this statue of Sontoko Ninomiya, who was more commonly known as Kinjiro Ninomiya, and was a famous agrigcultural reformer, philosopher of Shinotoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism, and grew up to become a wealthy farmer and a financial advisor to the feudal lord of what was later renamed to Odawara. His birthplace is here in Kayama, Odawara.
