Varmints

Mary found a snail on the shoreline. Maybe this was the first time that she has ever been to a river.

She tried playing with it and tried to see if it was alive or not.

She listened intensely for some response. My guess was that the snail was still alive.

Since Miniature Pinschers were bred to catch rats and other small varmints on German farms more than a hundred years ago, it's nice to see her display some of her natural instincts.

Green Steps

Even though we are living in a rental house, the owner said that we are free to do any kind of yardwork or upkeep as we like.

As I take the dogs for their morning, afternoon, and evening walks, I look at all the different ways that my neighbors have done their yards.

I like how this homeowner has added some simple symmetry and greenery just in front of their steps leading up to the front door.

Border Office

All of a sudden, Dale realized that my office chair can swivel around.

She had fun trying to play on the chair!

She tried to get up onto the chair, but she has grown so much that it moves too much under her weight.

This is as far as she can get!

Now, I need to get her off so that I can get back to work!

Nose to Ground

Took Mary to the local cemetery so that she can have a nice afternoon stroll without her leash.

This late in the afternoon is not the best time for taking pictures with an iPhone. Too much noise!
